Recent Grad Wins $10,000 to Help Pay Off Students Loans
What could be better than recently graduating college and getting a good job in this economic climate? How about winning $10,000 just six months into that job to help decorate your new apartment and begin paying back your student loans?
It’s a dream-like scenario, right? Not for David Wiegand, a 21-year-old catastrophe analyst with Aon in Chicago, IL. David won the January give-away for his participation in The Prevention Plan.
Although boasting a clean bill of health and exercising regularly, David felt that joining The Prevention Plan was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.
David never thought he had a chance in the drawing for cash prizes.
“Are you serious?” David responded in total shock when told he was the $10,000 grand prize winner.
“I’ve never won anything before, so when I was told I had won, I didn’t believe it,” David admitted. “I sat there in shock for a minute and then told two co-workers the news. They didn’t believe me at first.”
Once David was able to get over the shock of winning, he immediately started making plans for his new fortune.
“I’m a big fan of the Cleveland Browns, so I plan on buying a large flat-screen television. I was also thinking about buying a nice recliner for my apartment in time for the upcoming football season,” David said.
David has also made plans to step-up his healthy habits.
“I’ve always tried to use a preventive approach by staying fit and avoiding most unhealthy activities, but now, I plan to join a gym and increase my workouts to four to five times a week. I’m also going to try to eat better,” David said.
After having some time to shop around and speak with his parents, David has decided to put most of his winnings toward his student loans. David still plans to replace his bulky 36” TV with a new, 46” HD flat-screen, but his dream recliner will have to wait.
“It turns out that brand new recliners are more expensive than I had anticipated,” David explained.
