Pharmacy Tech Wins $250 to Help Others
Member from Missouri will Donate for Children
Stephanie Hessee, pharmacy technician with Freeman Health System in Joplin, MO, was happily “shocked” when she learned that she’d won November’s contest and the prize of $250 to help others.
As a fairly new member of The Prevention Plan, Stephanie didn’t realize that she was automatically enrolled in the monthly contest just by registering with The Prevention Plan. And, that she earns additional points each time she uses one of the plan features like lab work.
“I joined in the first part of November and will do my lab work through the plan,” she said. “What I particularly like about The Prevention Plan is that I know that I have access to it anytime I need it. That’s comforting to me because I plan to travel in the future and I can access my health record anytime, anywhere with Internet access.”
Stephanie and her husband, Eric, hope to take a family road trip out west this summer “because Stephanie has never been past Colorado”. And, possibly to one day move to Kentucky. “It’s pretty there and I like the small town feel. Joplin is fairly small but at times it can be too much for me. I like the little towns best,” she said. She and Eric are both Joplin natives.
She plans to donate the $250 prize to the March of Dimes or Children’s Miracle Network. “I’m familiar with them and I have a little girl, Elizabeth, who turns four years old this month.”
As far as her future goals for herself that The Prevention Plan will help her achieve, she says, “I’d like to get healthier in general such as eating better and getting more exercise. I’d also like to incorporate the Melt-Down that Freeman starts at the beginning of each year and hope to participate in that this year. I’m not overweight but would like to be healthier overall.”
