Practical Prevention Column Coming Soon

If You Thought The Prevention Plan Couldn’t Get Any Better or More Informative, It Just Did.

The specialists at The Prevention Plan understand your every temptation and frustration when it comes to living healthy and that’s why you will be hearing from Dr. Elizabeth Smoots.

Dr. Elizabeth will be providing you with practical tips and advice for making healthy decisions in a not-so-healthy world in a weekly column called, Practical Prevention.

She is a board-certified family physician and a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She has more than 20 years experience and specializes in prevention and primary care medicine.

“Today I draw on my experience and perspective as a family physician--and my endless fascination with prevention--to help provide readers of this column with practical information about staying well,” Dr. Elizabeth said.

Her longstanding personal interest in preventive medicine and patient education has driven her to make preventive health information more accessible to the public.

“During my youth I developed a lifelong fascination with prevention. It might have been because I grew up in a family where feasting on vegetables and fruits was favored over snacking on chips and fries. It might have been the years of effort I put into teaching aerobic classes, or weight lifting and going running with friends, or growing an organic garden from scratch, while reaping health and pleasure as rewards. It might have been all the hours I poured into health magazines, reading the nutrition and fitness facts contained within. And through it all, I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to help people stay healthy throughout their lives?’” Dr. Elizabeth commented.

Look for Dr. Elizabeth’s column, Practical Prevention, to debut in the “What’s New” section of your Prevention Plan.
