Before The Prevention Plan: A Care Manager in Jacksonville, Fla.
Her own prevention efforts: Runs three mornings a week, and tries to walk most days at work. Participates in the “Walk Across America” at work. Weakness is break and bake cookies, so she’s working on that with Cheryl, “my own wonderful Prevention Plan Nurse Advocate.”
Hobbies and interests: Spending time with friends and family. Any excuse to have dinner together with friends or go for a walk.
Family: Husband Mark and son Mason, 14.
Activities they enjoy doing together: Spend months each year planning for that year’s vacation. “My husband coaches baseball for the Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church baseball league, and I keep score. My son plays pitcher and short stop positions.”
Her use of The Prevention Plan: Currently working with Prevention Plan Nurse Advocate Cheryl to break weakness for break and bake cookies.
Likes best about job: The idea of prevention. “It not only places the responsibility of health back onto the individual, but helps to add quality of life to the years we have.”
What others don’t know about her: Five sisters and two brothers. And
“my husband and I quit our jobs and traveled for a year before we started a family.”
